Benalmádena hosts the finale of the XXXI “Festival de la Canción de Andalucia”
On the 14th of July Benalmádena will host, in the municipal auditory, the XXXI “Festival de la Canción de Andalucía” (Festival of the andalusian song), an event that has the support of the Benalmádena town council, through its Council for Festivities and Youth, and the collaboration of the Andalusian Tourism and the hotel chain Summa.
Summer after summer the prestigious Festival of Andalusia usually leads to evenings of confraternity between hundreds of residents of the Costa del Sol and other hundreds of visitors, coming from all over Andalusia.
Exceeding the numbers of earlier years, in respect of the number of songs that aspired to reach the semi-final, the number has reached a hundred seventy-eight from all andalusian provinces, especially, on this occasion, from Málaga and Cádiz, of which twelve, instead of ten as is tradition, will be competing in the finale.
The rewards to be achieved at this festival, besides the important promotion which awaits at the end from the Council of Festivites and Youth of the Benalmádena Town Council and for the Summa Foundation, as well as from the same organizational entity, Festivales de Andalucía, are 5000 CDs that are distributed to all of Spain, screening the name of Benalmádena in all communication medias of the country, as well as among performers and composers of all Spanish provinces. Furthermore the winners are presented with the trophies “Andalusia”, of the president of the andalusian government; “Málaga”, of the president of the provincial delegation of Málaga; “Benalmádena”, of the mayor of this city, as well as correspondent ones for each of the provinces in Andalusia that the finalists receive.
Additionally to the performances of the interprets and a selected group, there are special performances for concluding every evening like Yanira Figueroa, national winner of the TV programme “Gente de Primera” of new artistical values, Nado Sierra, winner of the last edition of the festival, the many-sided Santaella and the magnificent ballet of María Naranjo, taking place.
